Fracking... BOO!

Hi everybody! Last night I had a brainwave and decided to make a petition to stop fracking. Okay, some people may be asking what fracking is. I'm going to tell you. Here's an explanation:

Fracking is a dangerous method of drilling natural gas. It is done by injecting high- pressure liquid (water) into the drilling area. The liquid cracks the rock that has gas underneath and releases the natural gas. It is a relatively cheap and easy way for countries to produce natural gas. But here are the real facts:

  • 400 tanker trucks carry a total of 1-8 MILLION gallons of water to the drilling site.
  • About 40,000 gallons of chemicals are used, including harmful ones such as uranium, radium, methanol, mercury, and formaldehyde.
  • In all, 72 TRILLION GALLONS OF WATER and 360 BILLION GALLONS OF CHEMICALS are needed for our gas wells.
  • Creatures who drink the water that the harmful chemicals have got into can get sensory, respiratory, and neurological problems.
  • Once the fracking is completed, only 30-50% of the chemicals are removed, and the rest is left there. It is not biodegradable.
All in all, there is nothing good about fracking. It wastes water, gasoline, and releases harmful chemicals. It affects the already limited water supply of peoples, animals, and plantsand can make them sick. After all that, what do we get? Natural gas, which is harmful anyway.
Governments keep using fracking because it is a cheap way to get natural gas, but is it worth it?

It's not worth it, guys. That's why we must petition. Here's the link to my petition:
Or use this link:
WE must get to 100,000 in 30 days to have it reviewed by the White House. We can do this!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
